Setting Up Your Royal Oaks Email Account in Windows Live Mail (pdf)

If you do not have a Royal Oaks email account or do not remember your password please contact the Royal Oaks IT Department before completing the setup process to reset your password. The phone number for the IT Department is (623) 815-4221.

To begin, double click the Windows Live Mail icon to launch the program. This icon will be located on your desktop, or in your All Programs menu on the Start button.
When the program launches close any windows that may pop up after you open the program. After you close the pop up windows you should be at the Windows Live Mail home page or at your Inbox.


On the homepage click ADD E-MAIL ACCOUNT.
On the “Add an E-mail Account” screen you must fill in your email address, password, display name, check manually configure server setting, and then click NEXT

On the email server screen you will need to leave the incoming mail server as POP3 and enter in MAIL.ROYALOAKSLIFE.NET for both the incoming email server and outgoing email server. Check the box “MY OUTGOING SERVER REQUIRES AUTHENTICATION” then click NEXT.

Click FINISH

You should now be back at your home screen.


There is one more setting to change on the email account. Right click on the account name ROYALOAKSLIFE and choose PROPERTIES.

Uncheck the box LEAVE A COPY OF MESSAGES ON SERVER.
Click OK and you are done.
Your account is now setup. You can check the account by clicking Sync and ensuring there are no errors.
